When you visit our clinic you’ll find a wide range of clientele. Our patients range from a few weeks old, to the elderly. As you can imagine, patients in different stages of life come in for different reasons, whether it be pain related, performance related, immune system related, or just for fine tuning. It’s pretty rare to have a two week old throw their back out! Because of this, the adjustments also differ from patient to patient, depending on the case. Adjustments can be the quick and loud kinds that are plastered all over YouTube for your viewing pleasure, or in the case of a pregnant mother or infant, they can be very gentle, with no clicking or popping at all. Though the specifics of that day are lost to history, modern science has given us a much more accurate theory of the chiropractic adjustment and it’s affect upon the brain and the nerves that are intricately wired throughout the spine. Neuroscience now understands that your brain is like an amazing computer. It is constantly being bombarded by messages and signals from the millions of nerves throughout your body. But there are two areas of the body that these messenger nerves are incredibly numerous; the top and the bottom of your spine. When these nerves are sending the wrong information to your brain, it alters your brains ability to make the proper response. Just like a computer, wrong input, wrong output.
